Who Are We

We are your neighbors, friends, and co-workers, people from the Town of Ithaca community serving on the Town of Ithaca Democratic Committee (TOIDC). We represent the Democratic voters in the Town of Ithaca – the suburban/rural area outside the city of Ithaca, the bridge between the city and the rest of Tompkins County. The Town of Ithaca surrounds the city on three hills, and includes parts of the Cornell campus, Ithaca College, East Hill Plaza, Cayuga Heights, and many other neighborhoods.

We are elected, by petition, to represent the enrolled Democrats in the town to the larger party organization. We strive to represent a diverse group of members to further progressive and democratic principles. We are committed to reaching out to the community to inform, engage, and respond.

The Town of Ithaca Democratic Committee, together with the other town and city ward committees, make up the Tompkins County Democratic Committee which elects members to the New York State Democratic Committee, which in turn is part of the Democratic National Committee.
